Everyone of us know that today is 6th April and according to HINDU Calendar today is the 15th day of "CHAITRA PURNIMA" and it's a great day for us as on this day we celebrate the birthday of LORD HANUMAN. But today we will not only celebrate HANUMAN JAYANTI but also we would gain some knowledge about our LORD HANUMAN. 

LORD HANUMAN, also called "ANJANEPUTRA" is a HINDU GOD and a divine "vanara" companion of our GOD RAMA. We could also see that LORD HANUMAN is one of the central characters of the HINDU epic "RAMAYANA". He is an ardent devotee of RAMA and one of the "CHIRANJIVI's" which means immortal that means LORD HANUMAN is still alive in Earth and will remain alive till the end of the current "KALI YUGA" according to HINDUISM. LORD HANUMAN is considered to be an avatar of "VAYU" in SADH VAISHNAVISM, while in SHAIVISM our LORD HANUMAN is considered to be a partial avatar of "SHIVA".Not only in epic RAMAYANA LORD HANUMAN is also mentioned in several other texts such as the epic MAHABHARATA and also in various PURANS. LORD HANUMAN was born to mother ANJANA and father KESARI in ANJEYANADRI HILLS, which comes under Koppal District. Wind God "VAYU" is considered to be the spiritual father of LORD HANUMAN. We also know that he is considered to be a BACHELOR or we rather say "BRAHMACHARI". LORD HANUMAN is considered as the GOD of wisdom, strength, courage, devotion and self-discipline. He carries a weapon called "MACE" or which we say "GADA". LORD HANUMAN is also viewed as the ideal combination of strength, heroic initiative, assertive excellence and loving, emotional devotion to his personal GOD RAMA as 'Shakti' & 'Bhakti'. He symbolises the human excellence of inner self control, faith and service to a cause.
